Virginia Shakespeare Festival, Williamsburg, Virginia, July-August, 1984-1986.
Interned at the Virginia Shakespeare Festival three summers in a row, performing such pivotal roles as Oberon's fairy henchman (opposite Joe Mantello's Oberon) in G. Leslie Muchmore's A Midsummer Night's Dream, a soldier in David Knight's Richard II, the Roman Captain in Cynthia White's Cymbeline, and a masker in Robert L. Hobbs' Romeo & Juliet. He also performed with the festival's "Junior Guild" in productions of The Comedy of Errors (Aegeon), Romeo & Juliet (Romeo), and The Taming of the Shrew (Petruchio). Several years later, in 1990 to be precise, Rob performed in another production of The Comedy of Errors.
